Therese had the pleasure to represent Brand New Day and visit a classroom at Mater Dei, Camden, to say thank you to the students and to teacher, Jennifer Twine, for sending in letters and drawings for our Letters of Hope initiative.
Therese presented the students with a couple of photos showing ‘Team Hope’ members reading out their wonderful letters and then she asked the St Gregory’s College Year 10 workers experience student, in the classroom, to read out a few of the return letters written by them on behalf of the elderly residents within one of the local Aged Care facility’s visited.
A discussion followed with the boys on what the letters had to say. Afterwards they all worked together on a Christmas craft activity for Therese to take away so Brand New Day can give them out at our Christmas aged care community visit, December 22nd.
A huge shout out of thanks to teacher Jen Twine for reading about our Letters of Hope in the local paper and then taking it back into the classroom; giving the boys the opportunity to reach out to our elderly community to show them someone cares.
