Disability & Learning Support

*People with a Disability

More than 1.17 million people in NSW have a disability. That’s around one in five.

Chances are that you know someone with a disability.

Most people with a disability lead everyday lives. They go to school, work, get married and participate in social and community activities.

Sometimes, people with a disability are prevented from participating in community activities because their needs are not taken into account, or because of negative attitudes of others.

Horse riding provides a freedom of mobility and achievement perhaps not otherwise possible for a person with a disability. The rider can enjoy the smells, sights and sounds of a bush trail. Riding aids co-ordination and stimulates the mind and circulation, and improves the tone and relaxation of muscles. A doctor’s medical certificate is required from all riders. All riders assessed by RDA
